Main conferences relating to CMOS photonics
The IEEE Group Four Photonics 2011 conference will take place on 14-16 Sept 2011 in London, England
The Program Chairs are two HELIOS partners:
Graham Reed, University of Surrey, UK
Jean Marc Fedeli, CEA-LETI, France
European Silicon Photonics Project Demonstrates Laser and 10Gb/s Silicon Modulator Using CMOS Fabrication Processes
The course is now available online
Within the frame of HELIOS, the University of Trento (Nanoscience Laboratory) demonstrated a bidirectional optical link between Si-nc based light-emitting diodes
The results have been published by A. Marconi et al. “ High power efficiency in Si-nc/SiO2 multilayer light emitting devices by bipolar direct tunneling” Applied Physics Letters 94, 221110 (2009) and will be presented at ECIO conference, 7-9 April 2010, Cambridge, UK
HELIOS achievements in first year
Within the frame of HELIOS, the University of Paris-Sud (UPS-IEF) demonstrated a 40 GBit/s germanium photodetector integrated in silicon-on-insulator waveguide
The results have been published by L. Vivien et al. Optics Express 17 (8), 6252-6257 (2009) and at Group IV Photonics, San Francisco, USA, 9-11 September 2009
Within the frame of HELIOS, IMEC demonstrated a High-efficiency Silicon-On-Insulator Fiber-to-Chip Grating Couplers Using a Silicon Overlay.
The results have been published as post-deadline paper at Group IV Photonics, San Francisco, USA, 9-11 September 2009
