3S PHOTONICS – formerly Alcatel Optronics – is a leading supplier of optical discrete modules for telecommunication networks. It designs, develops, manufactures and commercializes active components powered by in-house III-V optoelectronic chips based on both Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) and Indium Phosphide (InP) technologies and passive components using Fiber Bragg Gratings.
Focused mainly today on laser modules from FTTH application up to Metro & Long Haul >10Gbits applications, receiver modules, laser pump modules and fiber bragg grating based devices. 3S PHOTONICS which represent over 160 people, has a wafer fab development and manufacturing facility in Nozay, France, and packaging and FBG activities located in Nozay and in south Asia.
Activities within HELIOS
The contribution of 3S PHOTONICS in HELIOS will be based on the strong experience in telecommunication market analysis, and in reliability study of optoelectronic components, which are in the core competencies of the company.
